Our Story

MoveMate was born from the personal experiences of our founders—a small team of expats and locals in Tokyo and discovered that the journey, while exciting, was challenging and often confusing. From navigating ward offices and housing contracts written in Japanese to understanding utility setup and cultural integration, every step felt like an uphill battle.

We realized that countless others faced the same obstacles. Instead of accepting the status quo, we decided to build a solution. Our mission became simple: eliminate the stress, confusion, and uncertainty from the Tokyo moving experience by providing comprehensive, practical, and compassionate guidance.

Today, MoveMate continues to refine our guides, expand our resources, and grow our community, all in service of one core belief: moving to Tokyo should feel like coming home, not facing an impossible challenge.
